This course provides students with an understanding of fire protection water quality requirements, with a focus on healthcare facilities and the measures needed to reduce the risk of Legionella growth and transmission. Participants will learn how to survey and map building water systems, monitor water quality, assess potential risks, and implement appropriate remediation measures to address health hazards. The course also covers documentation and water management practices aligned with the recommendations of ASHRAE Standard 188 and ASHRAE Guideline 12. Through practical instruction, students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to support effective building water management programs and help protect occupants from waterborne health risks while maintaining safe and reliable fire protection systems. Upon completion of the course, students will take the ASSE 12063 certification examination.
